Music Ministry
The Adult Choir has a long tradition of strong musical leadership at St. Edward Parish. The choir is three-part ensemble, composed of about twenty members. The choir ministers at the 9:30 AM Mass and prepares through weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings from 6:45-7:45 PM in the Church. In addition, the choir sings at the liturgies of Holy Week, Easter, Christmas and other special liturgies during the year.
The Contemporary Music Group under the direction of Mr. Terry Kerr, is composed of teen voices along with an instrumental ensemble to provide accompaniment. The group serves at the 6:00 PM Mass on Sunday and at special services throughout the year. The repertoire is mostly contemporary liturgical music. The group rehearses from 5:45-6:45 PM on Thursday evenings and at 5:00 PM before Mass on Sundays.
The Youth Choir represents a select group and is open to all singers in Grade 6 and up. The Youth Choir ministers on one or two Saturdays a month at the 5:00 PM Mass, as well as during special services throughout the year. Rehearsals are held an hour before Mass at 4:00 PM in the Church.
The Children's Choir is a seasonal choir that rehearses in November and December on Thursday evenings from 5:00 - 5:45 PM and enhances the community's song on Christmas Eve at the 4:00 PM Mass, and during the Christmas Pageant. Any child in Grades 2 - 6 is invited to sing in the Children's Choir.
Cantors and Instrumentalists If you have a desire to lead our congregations as a Cantor and Psalmist, or to play your musical instrument at any of our Masses, please speak with Anne Marie or Terry after Mass.
