Peer Ministry is open to all students grades 10-12 who desire a deeper connection with God, a deeper understanding of their faith and a stronger connection to the St. Edward parish community. Students involved in Peer Ministry take on a position of leadership among the youth of our parish by acting as facilitators during our larger youth group gatherings and as small group leaders during our Confirmation rereat every year. For more information contact our youth minister, Russ at StEdwardYM@gmail.com.
Peer Ministry meets after the 6PM Liturgy on Sunday evenings, as scheduled, throughout the school year (September-June). Our meetings consist of food, fun, engaging conversation and time for prayer and reflection and go until around 8:30. Peer ministry also meets to plan for youth group gatherings and other parish events. Those meetings are scheduled as they are needed. The meeting dates for this year are: October 25th, November 8th, December 6th, January 3rd, January 31st, February 7th, March 7th, March 21st, April 11th, May 9th, May 23rd and June 6th.
All you need to do to join peer ministry is send Russ an email to be put on the mailing list. Once you are on the mailing list, you'll receive information and reminders about all of our upcoming events. While we do anticipate a greater commitment for peer ministry than we do for youth group, Russ certainly understand that sometimes other commitments have to take priority and attendance at all the meetings is not required.

November 24-25: Lock-in. The fun begins at 9pm! December 6: Peer Ministry gathering after the 6pm Mass
Students involved in Peer Ministry take an active role in the life of our parish. They faithfully serve as lectors, Eucharistic ministers, ushers/greeters, liturgical musicians, religious education catechists and retreat leaders. Additionally, peer ministers play a major role in implementing so many of our successful service and justice initiatives. To sign up for any of the parish ministries, just contact Russ and he will get you in touch with the appropriate head of ministry.
